I spent more time reflecting on God?s blessings during my
last semester at Gordon than at any other time. Being so close to graduating I
would look back at the past three years and praise God for his provisions.
My first concern from the day I arrived at Gordon was to
maintain a high GPA and keep my scholarship. In other words, my goal was to
study well and get through school. But so much more happened during the three
and a half years of school. I had so many great experiences (various internships,
2008 presidential elections campaign project, volunteering for community
service organizations), so many different places I lived (Boston, Washington,
D.C.), so many inspiring people I met (professionals in my field at the internship
sites, other international students), and so many amazing professors to
challenge me! I?m so thankful for the wonderful years of learning and growing.
This was possible only because God wanted to show me a bit
of his power and because many of you responded to His call to be a blessing in
my life. Thank you for being an example of generous giving.
I applied to several graduate programs and got an offer from
AmericanUniversity. Applying to graduate schools
was also a learning experience. Unfortunately, I was late to apply for
scholarships and as a result, there was no financial aid package and I was not
able to accept the offer. I deferred, however, and plan to apply for financial
assistance for next year and God willing, I will be able to go to graduate
school.
As many of you know, I will be getting married (!!) in
August and will be moving to the Washington,
D.C., area in September. So I
won?t be too far away from all of you!
Last Minute Update: Beginning in September, I will be serving Frontline Ministries as the Coordinator for European Missions. I will work from D.C., with occasional trips to NH. In that capacity, I will be coordinating and planning the upcoming New Life / Frontline missions trip to the Republic of Georgia in November. Taking care of communications between Frontline, New Life, and the churches in Georgia, planning itineraries, overseeing flight arrangements and in-country details, and coordinating translation and pastoral needs will all be under my care and oversight. Please pray for me.
