Col. 1:27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I [we] toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.
2:1 For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, 2that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Here's our Special Call to individuals and couples in a nutshell:
We have a special call from the Lord in addition to our ministry to churches, schools, and conferences. Together, we lay hands on and pray together for individuals and couples who invite us to come and pray for them for a breakthrough, refreshment, revival, encouragement, or other spiritual blessing that the Lord may move them to seek. The initiative and response comes from God, the Father as He puts it on your heart to invite us. Marcy and I are simply to be faithful and respond by going and imparting whatever gift He has for those who invite us (Rom. 1:11-12), that by seeing his answer, yours and our faith will be mutually encouraged and built up. That He may continue to display his Heart.
This is a simple ministry--the ministry of Jesus to those individuals, couples, or familes who invite us. When invited, we do three things:
1. We listen. We listen to the need. We also listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying about the situation or need.
2. We share the "Heart of the Father" both Scripturally and Practically (1 John 3:18). We do this by sharing the "God-stories" we have witnessed through our many years of ministry of the Word. And by passing on whatever the Father gives to us. We also share, through the ministry of the word, those insights about the Gospel that draw hearts to the Father.
3. We pray together for those who are seeking a spiritual blessing from the Father---encouragement, a breakthrough, a touch from Him. And God ALWAYS gives generously to those who ask!!
We would be happy to come and impart whatever spiritual blessing the Lord has for you as you continue to move with God into that place of significant and effective ministry.
Please pray for us as we share our Father's heart, serving the Body of Christ in "the small places."
